Day 8

Challenge Activity Day 8:

«Self Vlogging Reality Check» is the name of today’s activity. You get to choose if you want to do this activity in the morning – just after you wake up, or at night – just after before sleeping. * My invitation is to do it in the morning * You use a device with a camera (ex. phone, tablet, laptop) and you record the Self Vlog. The duration of the activity is 20-60 minutes. It is advised to keep it once in a day.

There are two approaches on how to do this.

  1. You talk to your self as if you are the best therapist / psychologist in the world. And ask for «advice». And you respond. So you actually give a coaching, therapy session approach to yourself., in order to resolve something that is keeping you troubled. (it could be that something from the blame game arose and you want to talk about that.
  2. The other approach, what you can do is to ask the following questions:
      • I have a dream
The following question applies only in the mornings You wake up, turn on your device, take a sitting position and start recording, before doing anything else.
        What dreams did I see?
      • Reality check
Where I am, what day, what time and so on and so on. You can add as many details as you want. (weight, relationship status etc)
      • Mind cleansing
With the following question we are giving ourselves the opportunity to say whatever is there to be  said.
        What is keeping me busy?
      • Ups
The following questions are supporting to keep track of the ups you want to mention in your vlog. All three questions have the same goal. See which one fits better for you and opens up your sharing.

            1. what are my met needs?
            2. what I celebrate for?
            3. what is working?
      • Downs
The following questions, are supporting to keep track of the downs you want to mention in your vlog. All three questions have the same goal. See which one fits better for you and opens up your sharing.

            1. what are my unmet needs?
            2. what I mourn for?
            3. what is not working?
      • Bridging
In the bridging question, the intention is to connect the what is not working with what is working. This may mean that when there is something unpleasant happening you can either find a way to make it pleasant or find a way for it to stop. Both strategies are bridging.
How can I meet ends? What I change in order to bring the downs in the ups? How do I bridge the missing to be found? How can I bridge the things that don’t work in order for them to work?
